2011 AUGUST UPDATE!!! – UB.com, which used to be UltimateBet.com, and is now UBPoker.eu, is struggling. Badly. When the DOJ seized the UB.com and AbsolutePoker.com domain names on “Black Friday”, all their US players (which was most of their entire player base) got shut out from the online poker rooms, as did their funds.
UB/Absolute Poker struck a deal with the DOJ in May, but US player funds have still not been reimbursed, and word on the street is that they never will be.
UB and Absolute Poker have obviously lost all trust from the online poker community, even though they are still operating for players outside of the US, but the apparent damage is done as can be seen by their player volume.
