UB Overview

The online poker powerhouse formerly known as Ultimate Bet, now referred to simply as UB, is one of the internet’s most popular poker destinations. Even the Poker Brat himself, Phil Hellmuth, makes his online home at UB. Alongside him are crossover sensation Annie Duke and poker media wizard Joe Sebok. Since combining with its sister site Absolute Poker to form the CEREUS Network, the company has gone from strength to strength. UB is now part of the 6th largest online poker network in the world and provides tournaments, cash games, and software to match its growing reputation.

The low stakes No Limit Hold ‘em tables are where you’ll find most of the action on every online poker site, and UB is no exception. Stakes start at $0.01/$0.02 and move up through a variety of different levels until they reach the heady heights of $200/$400. Those same limits are also found on the Omaha tables. Stud and Mixed games progress only as high as $100/$200. Despite allowing for these high-stakes games, there are very rarely tables running at the top end of the cash ladder.

Sit and Go’s are similarly well catered for, with buy-ins starting as low as $0.10 + $0.01. The top tournaments will cost you a massive $5000 + $200 to enter, but as with the cash games, they rarely occur. There are various levels and styles of Sit & Go for Hold ‘em, Omaha, Razz, and 7-Card Stud. In addition to the traditional Single-Table S&Gs there are also Multi-Table versions all the way up to $65 + $6 for as many as 45 players. The increasingly popular heads up S&Gs are offered from $5 + $0.25 to $5000 + $100. MTTs are also very popular on UB. In addition to hundreds of regular freerolls, there are countless scheduled events from $0.25 + $0.02 up to $1000 + $50.

Any time you play at UB you’ll be earning points you can put to use in their RAI$E reward system. By stacking these up you can unlock extra UB bonus opportunities, purchase items in the UB store, and gain increased status levels. If all you want is some extra money to pad your bankroll then your RAI$E points can be converted straight into cash, at a rate of $0.007 per point. If you earn enough points, you’ll progress out of the doldrums and into the Contender category. At this stage you are rewarded with a 3x points earning multiplier, reload bonuses, and a $75 Refer-A-Friend bonus. You’ll need 500 monthly points to qualify for this level.

The stage up is Legend, which confers all the benefits of Contender along with a few extras – all for 2500 monthly points. You now have a 4x points multiplayer, exclusive tournament invites and special VIP host. The volume of points you can convert into cash is raised to $250 and you get a 10% discount on all UB store stock. If you’re a really high roller, you might be able to rack up 10,000 points in a single month. If you manage it, you’ll be catapulted to Icon status. Here you receive all the benefits of Legend, along with a 5x points multiplier, $1000 cash-for-points limit, and 9% per annum interest on account balances great than $1000.
